Kalorama Triangle and Sheridan-Kalorama
are two affluent residential neighborhoods typically referred
to as “Kalorama" (the name translates from
Greek as "fine view"). The area is bordered
by Rock Creek Park to the west and north, Columbia Road
and Calvert Street to the east, and Florida Avenue to
the south. Both are accessible to the Dupont Circle and
Woodley Park Metro stations (Red Line).
The chief distinction between the two
lies in the more urban character of Kalorama Triangle,
and the mansions and grand homes that line the streets
of Sheridan-Kalorama. The latter is notably one of the
most affluent neighborhood in Washington, while the Triangle
is more comparable with Dupont Circle and Woodley Park.
Both the Kalorama Triangle and Kalorama-Sheridan are distinct
for their park-like settings, large single-family homes,
spacious and elegant pre-war condominiums, and palatial
foreign embassies.
